Why choose The Development Partnership?
At The Development Partnership (DP), we create meaningful, lasting change in how people manage and lead.
Our experienced facilitators bring real-world insight and a coaching ethos to every session, helping learners grow in confidence, capability, and impact.
We work in true partnership with our clients, designing programmes that reflect your values, leadership culture, and strategic goals; all grounded in practice—not mere theory.
Whether you’re developing first-time managers, growing too fast for level of internal skills and abilities, or building a coaching culture across your organisation, The Development Partnership is your trusted guide for leadership growth that lasts.
DP offer several ILM qualifications – why have you chosen these and what is involved?
Choosing an ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management) qualification can be a strategic move, especially for those looking to grow in management, leadership, or team development roles. Here are several reasons why DP opted for ILM:
- Practical Focus
- Recognition in the UK and Globally
- Flexible Learning Paths
- Wide Range of Topics
- Employer Recognition
- Progressive Career Development
- Supportive Resources and Network
- Assessment Style
What if we wish to have programmes specifically designed to meet our organization’s needs?
Absolutely no problem, DP have been designing and managing bespoke training programmes since 1992 times change, people change our delivery material changes – but not our underlying culture and ethos: “Working in Partnership to develop and support people in realising their potential and become highly effective and successful members of their organisations.”
Do you run programmes for individuals or are they all targeted at groups of employees from one organisation?
Both, the norm is to work with clients who can gather a complete cohort of participants – usually between 8 and 12; but we also help individuals form a group that allows them to participate in the programme of their choosing.
Do you deliver virtual training or just classroom style?
Both, all groups receive the same level of input and materials from our facilitators. Whether classroom or virtual, all participants have access to our material and an online Learning Zone dedicated to their programme – in addition every participant has the facility to talk with their tutor in confidence outside of the programmed sessions.
Can your virtual programs be attended internationally?
Yes, although we can only deliver these in English at this time.
What industries have you worked with?
Firstly, just a quick point, unlike many organisations, we don’t broadcast our previous clients until we have a closer relationship with potential new clients; at that point, we will tell you of previous clients who operate in similar sectors or who had related issues and give you the opportunity to talk to key people in those originations to ask about what DP have done for them.

What happens during and after the programme is completed, are there options for individual help and advice for participants at DP?
There is always help and guidance available for individuals. Our participants are never left to manage difficult issues by themselves – before, during or after the programme has completed. The very culture of DP means we are always there to help you with related issues arising in your future career. A quick email, or telephone call can find you discussing potential solutions to your issue with senior people at DP, preferably someone with whom you have already established a relationship. We have had people contact us for guidance and advice several years after their programme ended.
